About 31 years ago or so, back just after I was in high school,I used to go camping with my friends. I'm still friends with all of them, so still go camping, some do not. One spring we jus had to go out camping. We had been cooped up all winter and had been talking about how great camping would be in the spring. So, first warn day we head out with our only tent to the local park. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Was fun at first but, after darkness settled in it started to get cold. I think there was still snow on the ground. We all crawled into the one tent to sleep and I realized, that I was the only one that prepared at all.(as usual) At first I was all toasty and warm in my sleeping bag. Then I frivolously, and stupidly, gave up my sleeping bag to the pregnant woman. I froze after that. I could hear her sleeping peacefully, snoring away while I shivered and hardly slept at all. It took me several hours the next morning before I fully felt warm again. A few months later a healthy baby girl was born. I am now good friends with that baby girl ( she is now 31) and the rest of her family too. I now go camping with her kids. But, I never let her forget that she is nice and healthy because I froze my A** sleeping on the ground all those many years ago because I wanted her mom to be warm while pregnant and carrying her . jk
Oh, and I still have the same sleeping bag. I now use it as a comforter in my camper. It's a little thread bare but, every time I cover up with it I remember this memory and every other memory I've made over the years sleeping in that old sleeping bag.
