A positive thread, post yours

We have been tooling around Colorado for the last few weeks and I'm Positive we are having a great time. Not one noisy night and every campground has been pretty good. One thing I have noticed is you rarely see a 1/2 ton pickup in camp around here where there are bunches in the Midwest.

Heard some dogs barking further down the road. The ranger drove by and apparently asked the owners to keep them quiet.
So many trees and bushes surrounding our large lot that we could not see our neighbors except when we could see their lights at night.
They had a campfire when we drove in. The smell was wonderful.
Do not have to unload food when we get home as we are going again shortly.
Wild flowers all along the roads. Some people call them weeks, I think of them as flowers.
Hot enough to swim, beach not crowded because school is on.

We got home from a week up at Eagle Lake CA. yesterday.

The drive up I-80 to Reno then onto 395 was good even though it was raining_
Diesel was cheaper in Susanville_
The weather was pleasant for the week_
Our neighbors were very sweet_
Most of our loop cleared out on Tuesday making it a little lonely_
The view from every window was spectacular_
Virtually no flying insects around_
Slept thru each night_
Barbecued everyday_
Drank 21 beers in four days_


Folks from Las Vegas backed in yesterday while we were stowing stuff.
Picked up our left over firewood and walked over and gave it to them.
We talked for a bit then parted ways.

A fine time I must say.

I've found the good times always outweigh the bad times RV'ing. And the bad times are usually related to break downs which is something that can always be fixed.

Heck if some of the bad stuff did not happen what would we talk about around the campfire?! :B

We're staying close to home, waiting the arrival of our first grandchild...then the new mom's younger sister is getting married the last weekend of this month...in the midst of all this excitement we do have one camping trip planned and once the dust settles, we're off again:)

Took our 27' Tahoe we use for smaller camp grounds in the mountains. Rained two days straight. Grandkid got sick in the camper. Grandkids tracked mud from one end of the camper to the other. One of my skylights cracked and dripped rain. Neighbors dog barked constantly. Grandson burnt my steak on the grill. This sounds negative to the unknowing but to me it was a great camping trip!!

You already know how to write. You just don't know it yet. Take a paper diary or a laptop with you. If you can write first hand as you are experiencing it, that's great. That's from the diary I wrote as we walked around. I call them "Mickey Moments". It's like being 5 years old and seeing Mickey for real for the first time. You just can't believe something is so real, so beautiful, so perfect. I was 25 when I wrote that. It's not as hard as you think. If you can feel it you can write it.

Thanks I as most others have a lot of tales to tell. We have many great memories. Some better than others but all no matter what seem now to be pretty humorous. I guess its how you look at it. I sure can't change it HAHA Larry

Not even the furnace going out when the outside temp was 19 degrees, or the PS unit went out on a country road in Minn. and we limped for about 150 miles till we found a place to have it fixed.

Ha! That ain't NUTHIN'! Multiple issues with our 5er brakes on the way to OBX. Limp down, hubby gets sick as a dog with let's just say "digestive issues" and the sewer hose is 10 feet too short when we get there! Then there's the trip to Bar Harbor when the cow fell on me at the Blue Hill Fair. No matter how "bad" it gets, nothing beats all the good memories and the fantastic family time we've had. Every time I get too close to a cow I break out in a cold sweat. Well, not really, but it sounds good! We do laugh about it, though. Jimmy Buffet has the right attitude. Hey, it's 5:00 somewhere, isn't it? (Yes, I know Alan Jackson sang that but he joined in!)

Not an idea, really, just putting thoughts in other people's heads. I'm just a firm believer that if we constantly look at the negative we only see the negative. Misery might love company but to paraphrase a line from Hello Dolly "Happiness is like manure-works best when you spread it around". I'm not against venting but it just seems like it's infiltrating like a virus on here. Let's at least wait until winter sets in! :B
