- BobboExplorer IIIOn MY RV, I can do that if the batteries are fairly well charged. If the batteries are low, so the converter/charger is pulling its maximum amperage, I can not do both water heater and A/C.

And the answer is: maybe.
Best answer. and it depends on many things.
Park with GOOD 30 amp power. Clean condenser coils. Likely yes.
Couple days ago I went "Topside" and cleaned the cottonwood "Cotton" off the condensers on both of my A/C's... With the Condensers clogged with "Cotton" (Or anything else) NO.
One park I stay at .... Well many of the sites the 30 amp power is very "Anemic" and though I USUALLY can do it,, not always and voltages may drop far enough to bother some stuff if not for my Autoforemr. - MFLNomad II

I run the hot water heater, ac and microwave all at the same time on our 30-amp. Our hw heater is 10 gallons, not that it matters. I also have the television on most of the time too.
That has been my experience also. I run my 15K AC, plus WH on electric, and whatever else I normally use. I've never tripped a breaker on this FW, which has 30 amp.
Jerry - jnharleyExplorerMaybe is the answer. Depends of the power service at the campground. We recently stayed at a COE and the voltage was alarmingly low. I assume it was because there were lots of air conditioners being used. We had to be very careful with our power usage. We could not run. Anything g elder with our ac running and we were on a 50 amp hook up. We stay in this campground in the winter and have never encountered electrical issues then. By the way, it was very hot with heat index well over 100 degrees.
- I recommend propane for water and fridge if using the air conditioner or electric space heater.

- stickdogExplorerThe water heater is not on all the time unless your taking a hot steamy shower. The A/C cycles on and off as well so whats the worse that can happen, you pop a breaker.

I run both all the time at the seasonal on 30 amps. If I need to use any other major current draw Appliance (coffee maker or hair dryer) I shut the water heater off. I usually only turn the water heater on of a morning or of a evening anyway. By heating the water of a morning I usually have enough hot water for hand washing throughout the day. Turn it back on of a evening to wash dishes and take a shower.
any idea if i can run my roof 13.5 ac at the same time as my 6 gal suburban water heater? i have a class c with 30 amp service. thanx - seaeagle2ExplorerYa but electricity may be included in the campsite fee so sort of "free"
