Adco cover

My 2.5 year old ADCO top of their line cover is crumbling on south and West sides.

I am in Kentucky, its parked out in a lot far from trees or anything. No chemical plants or power stations anywhere near it. Only sun. Which it can't handle. It is obvious that the most direct sides for sun is where is just deteriorating where its crumbles in your hand.

I am pretty PO about this. yea 2 year warranty, but I don't like buying anything worthless POS.

I highly recommend NOT to buy this brand. This was several hundred dollars.

Anyone have a better manufacture? If not, i differently will just do with out, they are PITA anyway.
  • I was on of the less fortunate. My brand new Adco cover ripped up in 45 days. No problem I bought the 3 year warranty. Took it back to CW they spent 1 hour trying to get Adco to replace. Adco refused,so Camping World did replace with no questions asked. CW then asked me if I wanted to replace the warranty. I told them the one I bought was a 3 year warranty. They said no, it is a one time replacement. I said no and showed them the brochure they gave me. They pointed out the teeny tiny print that applies only to covers not a 3 year but 1x replacement. I chose not to by a 2nd warranty. The second cover ripped in several places within 3 months. I paid close to 500.00.
  • I too live in the great Northwet and covered my TT with an ADCO cover. It worked great for 3 years and it was still serviceable when I sold it this spring with at least several more years in it. Mine too was covered in moss or green stuff. The TT looked great. Maybe you should move here?
  • I'm not sure what you mean by 'top-of-the-line". ADCO makes several different covers out of different materials depending on what you think you want to protect against. My cover meant to protect against the sun and has for three years now in Arizona. Some holes are starting to develop in some corners but the sun has not damaged it in any way. Perhaps you were sold a cover made of the wrong material.

  • They just won't last in the sun.

Both of the RV's stored next to mine in Florida had covers. One was an ADCO and the other was another brand. Both just fell apart after a couple of years. A two-year old child could rip the fabric.

I bought ADCO tire covers. The outside has lasted a year so far, but the cloth like liner deteriorated in a matter of months.

I have had similar experiences with screen tents. The fabric rots in the sun in 6 months.

For RV covers I think the problem is that the fabric has to be at least somewhat breathable so you do not come back to a RV covered with black mold. But unfortunately breathable fabric does not hold up.

I store my fiver without a cover based on everyone else's experience that I have talked to. I do put the reflector cardboard (roll of insulation from Home Depot) in the windows. I am not sure if that does much, but everyone else uses it, so monkey see, monkey do. It sure does make things dark inside.
  • Mine has held up great over that last 9 years - but it gets almost no sun here in the PNW. In fact it's covered with moss.
I suggest you call them and see what they'll do for you.
