That would have been a very serious escalation of the situation and would likely have resulted in your arrest. In addition, when you pick up any type of object such as a shovel, it can be construed as a weapon and a person would likely have been justified to use deadly force to stop you.
The guy cut the line. It is not life threatening and not a reason to get into an altercation by shoving a shovel through his radiator. It is much better to stay out of the situation by not arguing and getting out of your truck to video the perpetrator. Call the authorities when a situation gets out of hand and you won't be dealing with the legal or physical ramifications of it.
