air compressor advice needed

Looking at getting the porter cable air compressor 6 gallon 150psi for basically airing up tires on TV and trailer but would like to run a few small tools off it is this a good air compressor for that type of work or should I upgrade to the Kobalt 2hp 175psi.
  • I bought a PC 6-gallon compressor brand new at Lowes a couple of years ago. Just recently the regulator froze up and would not allow me to put 80 lbs pressure into my truck tires. I was sick, (especially when I found that a new regulator costs +45.00). Well, now for the rest of the story- I called PC's 1-800 service number, told lady what was wrong with compressor. She sent me a complimentary brand new regulator free of charge. I changed it out, it works great! I was very impressed that they did this enlight of the fact that it was well out of warranty. I love the fact that it only weighs 38 lbs. Keep it in storage bay of my 5w, just for airing up tires & blowing out water lines.
  • Home Depot had the PC (6gal. 150psi) on sale about a week ago for $99. However I bought a PC a couple of years ago and it wouldnt hold air and the pressure regulator took two hand to turn it so I sent it back. Bought a Harbor Freight on their $99 sale. Think their sale is going on now. Ya, Ya! Harbor Freight! Believe me it is built just as good as the PC, Probably built in the same Chinese factory. They may even look the same if you took off the fancy HF cover. Mine has worked like a charm.
If you want a commercial unit go with DeWalt or such but plan on spending tons extra. (probably make in china also)
