Well got the coils clean at last. They were 98% completely clogged. I am not even sure how it even worked. Works much better now. This is my first TT and rooftop AC. There does not appear to be any kind of filter holder. There is just the grill cover and an open hole the leads to the evap coils. I think this is why the last owners foam filter ended up on the coils, there was nothing to hold it in place and keep it from being suck up. I think I will engineer something out of 1/4" hardware cloth. Thanks for the advice.
