The Ohio Highway Patrol are the state police and are directly under the authority of the governor.

The Roma people are gypsies and they don't mind the term, but to use it like you did denotes that these white trash are Roma people and that is not the case. This is very racist and it offends me greatly

The one thing about Texas: A park ranger and a game warden are two of the most feared LEOs in this region. Some junkies moving in and puffing away in public would be soon be greeted by Plasticuffs for keepsake jewelry, a paddy wagon and DPS troopers.

A friend of mine who owns a CG in north Texas had a horror story from a busy weekend when some vandals caused immense damage (requiring his CG to be closed two weeks) and now on busy weekends, he keeps a off-duty LEO and a RV-capable tow truck on site. After he made it clear that ejected from his CG, then claiming to be too drunk to hitch up and leave will be immediately arrested for PI, and their rig impounded.

I think you mean Pa. State police. Ohio doesn't have state police, only highway patrol and have little authority off the highway system. That's what we have sheriffs for. But I do agree that they wouldn't allow that at a state park. They will usually complain if you even have a tire off the drive.

On the contrary, OHP has jurisdiction on all state-owned/managed property, which does include State Parks. Only a few years ago, our local SP had 3-4 SP Rangers patrolling on-duty every day. Now, due to severe budget cut-backs, we saw only one ranger doing a slow drive-through on three of the seven days we camped this past week. One OHP cruiser did drive through one morning, in place of the Park Ranger service.

We also witnessed inexcusable, loud, and obnoxious behaviors from "campers" on a near-by site. They clearly exceeded the 6-person limit on the site, tent/awning pegs only 4 inches (seriously) from the street, openly drinking beer (possession prohibited in Ohio SP), and literally throwing (imagine a football pass) trash across the road and into the woods. Their camping "trailer" and tents were obvious reasons why some campgrounds deny access to dilapidated equipment. How "normal" human beings could crowd themselves into that filthy, small space was mind-warping.

From the photo it looks like you were up hill from them. Next time, if you have the "high ground", try pulling the valve on your black tank. You'd be a REAL party pooper then!

Yes. And these threads (and a site that was a a sea of muddy ruts because parking perhaps wasn't enforced?) makes me appreciate them so much.

Can't see all the bottles scattered everywhere.But the Huka and pot were still in the open.We packed up and left and complained to get a refund for a night.

After looking at that picture with the crashed out drunks, I would have accidentally set off my car alarm and take my sweet time finding the remote, especially if they kept me awake all night!

This is a little off topic and I am not and don’t profess to be a expert so I will only respond to it this time… I replied to the post not the thread…
It may sound wacko, over the top, and beyond reason and not long ago I would have agreed with that… but drug use is what is over the top and the end users are not primarily inner city dwellers hanging out on the streets all night… from pot users to miss-use of prescription drugs and even designer drugs are being used by many economic and social segments, but are largely a problem of the upper middle class and upper economically advantaged suburbanites now … they may be better at hiding there problem, and some seem to function while high but it gets to where they can only function while under the influence… but many while being closet users are working hard to make recreational use of pot and/or other substances legal acceptable, and PC… sure there may be medical uses for pot that would be beneficial to some, but they would be few and far between… but to think even a small percentage of those holding medical marijuana cards where they are available need them is nothing more the sticking your head under the sand…

A dose of reality… there is no shortage of reading material about teachers, school board members, doctors, lawyers, politicians, and I guess Indian chiefs found to be users… now I don’t know if it’s the smoke in the board rooms offering ludicrous packages for CEO’s for multiyear contracts that fail miserably… the failed COE, or the second dose of boardroom smoke that then causes the buyout of the contract just to fire the guy only months later… of course they were all thinking clearly… I suspect that’s the way many that control facets of mine and your lives act and react as if brain damage has already set in…

Or my long time personal physician and friend that had a HUGE practice and former American Olympian himself, indicted for prescribing massive amounts of Vicodin, Oxycontin, and Oxycodone many to himself… even though not obvious, apparently his judgment was clouded to the point he has nothing now and chances are he never will again… how has that judgment effected the thousands of patients, I don’t know…

The thing is drug abuse is everywhere now… ya it’s wacky alright, I agree there…

We recently lost our long-time family dentist when the feds raided his office and arrested him. He was prescribing for himself painkillers, and apparently selling them as well. Sad state we're in....
