I was a little concerned with amount of weight, the Andersen hitch, restored to the front axle, and, actually bought another hitch (Blue Ox SwayPro). Thirty six hours, before a 1500 mile trip, the Blue Ox broke (1500 lb trunion bars, bent). Replacement parts did not show up in time, and, I went on that trip with the Andersen hitch. Even though scale numbers say the FALR is a little low, I was pleasantly surprised with the hitch performance.
I think, I-94 may be the worst highway (ruts, potholes, construction) in the country, days without a cross wind are rare (if ever), and this hitch did a fine job.
New bars were here when I got back. I'll give Blue Ox a try for next trip, and, I'm keeping the Andersen for a spare, or a replacement if Blue Ox breaks again. Maybe, Blue Ox will be the spare.
