Maybe, you were expecting too much weight transfer and tightened it up too much.
Mike bought a product which was sold as a Weight Distribution Hitch with a tongue weight rating of 1400#.
IMO, a WDH rated for 1400# TW should be able to remove around 900# from the rear axle and add about 600# to the front axle.
The largest amount of front axle load restoration I've seen reported by any Andersen WDH user is 200#.
Mike's problem is not that he expected too much.
The problem is that the Andersen delivered too little.
