I have had the andersons sink slightly in "muddy" situations, but likely no more than a pair of foot long 1" boards would.
An Andersen leveler measures 6" wide x 15 5/8" long, assuming it hasn't been trimmed to fit between adjacent tires, but because of it's curved surface probably no more than 6" of it would be in contact with the ground at any given time, or ~ 36 sq inches. You haven't indicated how wide your foot long board would be but let's say it's a 2 x 8, so dressed it would be 7.5" x 12" = 90 sq inches, or 2.5 times the contact surface of an Andersen. In my case, I've mounted 6 Lynx levelers to a base board measuring 8.5" wide x 52" long = 442 sq inches or about 13x the surface area contacting the ground as an Andersen leveler or 6.5x two Andersen levelers ... no wonder my system is rock solid even on soft ground surfaces while the Andersen will sink like a rock in molasses. ;)
