  • Won't bother me too much. Most of these buyers want full hookups while I dry/boondock, and won't be out and about much when they find RVing isn't "work" free.

I think the price of fuel just keeps people local rather than making longer trips. I'm pulling a 32 foot TT with a 3/4 ton truck getting 10~11 mpg so our trips this summer are for the most part going to be local (within 50 miles of home). We did a Memorial Day trip to PA (600 miles round trip) and just gas and tolls (I hate living in the northeast) were around $250 (Throgs Neck Bridge, George Washington Bridge, NJ Turnpike, etc.).

No wonder it's getting harder to find camping spots.

Over the last few years we've come to expect that popular places require long-term planning...in many cases, a year in advance. We've still not had too much trouble finding camping spots fairly last minute at many state parks we like to visit.

Really, though this isn't a problem for us, I see the biggest dilemma is storage for these RV's. I've heard multiple complaints about people who have to store their rig out of town just to find a place. Seems like new storage lots popping up all over the place and immediately getting loaded up with RV's.

:p Exactly. As fuel cost rises, fewer traveled miles happen. Why they are climbing I have no idea. Greed maybe?
  • Where the heck are they going to use these things?
Camping clubs must be doing great.
