It uses a Yanmar air cooled diesel clone engine. Nice design but build quality of these is highly variable.
It runs at 3600 RPM fixed.
I had a Kipor clone version for a while-didn't use for camping. A friend has it now and it still runs fine. But there are issues for camping: It is big booming loud. Not annoying sound to me, but too loud for campground service. As mentioned they are heavy. The ones that don't have catalyst have very stinky exhaust. Burned diesel fuel never smelled so bad as it does in these small engines. Sort of like campfire smoke following you but worse.
If for camping near others, rule it out due to noise.
