I am inclined to agree with the first reply,, When you are in public you have no expectation of privacy.. IN FACT.. I think I know precedence now that I think of it... Detroit, Michigan, Eastern Market district.. Law Enforcement (I think FBI) installed directional mics and long range cameras on top of light poles to record activity including conservations on the streets below.. Seems there were some organizations carrying on business type conservations the Law Enforcement types were interested in.. Stuff like who was to wack who and why. Other illegal stuff (NOTE: These businessmen were not Eastern Market Vendors but hey. who does not like good food at good prices.. I mean I shopped there myself).
When the fecal material met with the impeller the Criminals argued "invasion of privacy" and.. ... Went to prison cause the judge ruled against them
The difference between these cameras and mics and Dash Cams... The cameras in this case were specifically to catch the crooks. Now just recording the trip.

IF you have a dash cam and get pulled over by the police.......
Some places have made it illegal to film a police officer in the performance of his duty. (I think this won't fly whe it gets to the high court but .. Well.. It has not gotten there yet)
