As seen on TV

I bought 4 pocket hoses last year and by the end of the summer, everyone leaked as the faucet. Nice theory but they don't stand up very well. I've some "new" designs that have copper ends. Maybe they will be more durable.

Pacemaker users have to stay at least ten feet away from an operating induction cooker.

The "As seen on TV" moniker is applied to those same items when they are sold in your local brick and mortar. The display says As Seen on TV, and the selling point is that you do not have to pay the processing and handling charge, but just the normal price or sometimes even a sale price.

While much of the stuff is still junk, there are a few items, like the Induction Cooker, that actually work well and are much cheaper without paying the exorbitant shipping and handling charges when ordering through the TV.

OK, OK , I'll order a couple. Have to wait until next month to keep the credit card bill smaller. I spend 260 dollars on new foam rubber for the camper cushions this month. I have seen those nu-wave cookers in local stores but, if I order them on-line from the company they include a second one for free and a few pans that will work with them. I tried out my home pans and none of them, not one, is made of metal. I've looked at my local discount stores and they do not have metal, not stick pans. The pans are the point that is holding me back. I just don't have a way locally to buy any metal non stick pans that are dishwasher safe. I'm a bachelor, if it won't stand up to the dishwasher I don't own it.

We have two NuWaves and use them constantly. Perfect if you don't want to heat up your house or camper while cooking. They do an excellent job, but you do have to use metal pans with them. A magnet test on the pan will tell you if it will work or not.

I take one to work to use in the break room once in a while. I always have a crowd gathering around to see if they really work. I like to have them put their hand on it while it's cooking to find that it is barely warm to the touch. Everyone says they are going to get one now that they have seen it work.

From what I have read, the reason "As seen on TV" adds our numerous is that the advertisers get a percentage of the sales as part of the add payment, and the reason the adds are on every five minutes.

You can sharpen ceramic knives but it needs a specialty sharpener and I haven't the interest in buying and storing an additional $40-70.00 gizmo to accomplish the task. It's been my experience that knives need to be sharpened at least one a week unless you just don't use them much.

I found the knife.. Would a diamond wheel at low speed sharpen them. I have those for my variable speed Dremel knockoffs. (one is actually a re-labeled Dremel).

I used to work for a man who could sharpen anything,, INCLUDING your wits.. A fellow Ham radio operator ran a company called Grinding Service.. Alas, last time I drove past it was gone.

The only as seen on TV item that I have had any success with (none purchase from TV but at retail stores) is the extended reach pick up tool to pick up items from the floor or put them up on high shelves. This works - until the rubber suction cups used at the pickup end come off after a year or so of use and then to fix that they need to be epoxied back into place for a more permanent attachment.

A few others have been not so good - pocket hose burst after using a couple of months, shoe-dini the extended shoe horn broke with first use, the pillow that holds your tablet does work but was too small for my 10 inch tablet - my wife ripped out the stitching on the pockets that hold the tablet corners and increased what they will hold - so that does work but with not worth it modifications.

We have the George Foreman Rotisserie. It makes the best chicken and pork roast I have ever had. I have a Ronco on backup for use if the George Foreman quits. We use it at least twice a month in the winter.
