Awning Roller Tube Trapping Water

I have had my Keystone Bullet Premier TT for about 4 1/2 years now. Last year I noticed that whenever I opened my electric awning after storing for a few weeks, water pours out of the roller tube. Apparently when it rains, water gets trapped in it when the awning is rolled up. Other than the obvious annoyance factor of water dripping on the underside of the awning, this is also causing mold issues on the awning. Is there something I can do to prevent this? Thanks for any insight.

  • The links above are good ideas, I saw Stew Olson show that tip on one of his RV shows. I am thinking about doing that over the winter as well. good luck.
  • Mine does the same thing. You could raise the front of the trailer when it's parked so the water runs out the low side. Other then that open it after a rain to let it dry out.
