back up lights

anyone mount LED back up lights on a bumper to better see backing up into a space after dark?

I want them pretty bright but wondering if there are laws against it as they might be tripped while driving down the highway.
  • I mounted regular lights, not LED. They are wired to the trailer battery through a relay and only come on when the tow vehicle is in reverse. They REALLY light up the area. I can't see how they could be illegal.

I also installed a good backup camera that doesn't require light. Additionally I mounted another set that light up the ground around the trailer tires. Very handy when you're maneuvering off the beaten path after dark.
