Thanks for ALL of the feedback! It is much appreciated.
I may have overstated the slope--I wish I would have measured when I was up there last time.
Either way, I may opt to just excavate another spot. There is one other spot that is relatively flat and possible to clear, it's just SO heavily wooded, though thankfully all the trees are quite small (no taller than 30 feet).
Of course the land flattens out RIGHT where my property ends. So it goes.
