Bed comfort varies for everyone so what may work for one may not be suitable for another. Mattresses in many if not most RVs are pretty substandard but since we don't fulltime I'd be hard pressed to replace the existing mattress entirely when it's
much less costly to simply add a topper that can improve comfort dramatically. We chose a 3" Novaform memory foam gel topper from Costco and instead of cutting it to short queen size I instead extended the length of the bed platform by 6", pulled the existing mattress forward, and tucked the extra length of memory foam into the gap created at the headboard. We now have a full length 80" bed that is vastly more comfortable than the original mattress at far less cost than replacing the mattress entirely. Buy one of these toppers at Costco and if it doesn't prove satisfactory just return it. Pics are in my gallery if you're interested.
