I certainly mean no disrespect, but I would worry if someone is that timid is camping. I would worry abut her, and imagine her "holed up" or "trapped" inside her camper if things should get out of hand outside for whatever reason.
Your OP mentioned a boyfriend. He should have reported this problem if your cousin was too "timid" to do so.
In any case, she should have not allowed a stranger to ruin her weekend by not reporting.
