Our trailer is too long to park on our property anywhere, sadly. The rule here is you can park a trailer on any "hard surface meant for vehicle parking" so long as the hitch is > 4' from the curb (or sidewalk, if you have a sidewalk).
This past spring, I angle parked the 36' long trailer across my driveway for a week while we cleaned it up and got it ready for the season. The wheels were on the hard surface still, but the back end protruded across the front lawn and was actually (technically) in my neighbor's front yard. Parking on the street has a maximum time limit of 36 hours and I have a neighbor that calls the parking enforcement hotline the moment my trailer shows up in spring and fall. 36 hours just isn't quite enough time to properly pack or clean, so I got inventive.
Couldn't even see my house from the street anymore.
The silly thing is I knock on all the neighbors doors and ask if they're ok with the trailer being there and have never had anyone say it was an issue. I am not the kind of neighbor that just does what he wants and thinks people should just deal with it. One time I had my old trailer on the street for a bit better than 36 hours while I was selling it as the buyer couldn't make it to town the day he was supposed to, I actually went to all the neighbors and apologized for it being there that long.
Anyhow, we store ours at a friend's acreage. Best of both worlds. Always someone around keeping an eye on it, and we have access when we need. If it came down to it, though, I couldn't sell it and stop RV'ing just because of the inconvenience of having to store it somewhere away from home.
