We store ours. We have to because of our ridiculous neighborhood restrictions that allow boats all year long, but not trailers/camper! If we could go back and not buy this house 10 years ago.......well, we still might anyway. Selling isn't an option for us either.
We are fortunate in that we can store it at my Father-in-law's house. I feel that's a better alternative than storing it in a storage yard (although last winter he did hit the skirting with his snow plow causing $1500 worth of damage). Maybe you have a friend with acreage that is willing to store it in their yard for you? We actually have 2 things we store at other people's houses.
At any rate, I would NEVER imagine selling my RV because we can't store it on site. That's just absurd really!
Is it possible to store it in your drive for just a day or two prior to a trip? Find a storage facility on your way home from work and pick up the camper after work on the night before you leave. Plug it in to let the fridge cool and start filling it up the clothes.
I will say that if I have to look for a silver lining, it's that my camper is never dirty for more than a few hours after we get it home, no matter how long the trip. I want to drop it off at storage clean, not dirty and I don't have the luxury of saying, "Oh, I'll clean it tomorrow." Typically I actually do the deep clean immediately prior to our departure from the campground. As soon as we pull into the drive it's all hands on deck to empty the fridge and dirty linen. I throw camper sheets and towels into the washer first, while we unpack everything. By the time we're ready to head out to drop off the camper at storage, the camper linen is already dried and I just fold it and put it in it's spot.
It sucks, I'll admit. There's been more than one time that I wanted to have it here in my drive. But.....I can't so I have to get over it and make it work.
