Hi Chris, I assume you are refering to my statement. Some FCI latches are being recalled because the key can be removed while the lock cylinder is rotated (horizontally). In this position it is impossible to open the door from the inside. The recall is to replace the lock cylinder with a new design.
My old Dutchmen never did this and while I thought it kind of weird on the Jayco I really did not think it was an issue until I read about the recall. Well as it turns out my particular lock was earlier than the recall. Attempts to contact FCI were fruitless so it was safer to just replace the latch for $29. The recall page even states that they want to be contacted if the latch falls outside the recall window.
