Base Decals NAS Pensacola?

We are staying at the campground on base(Oak Grove) next month and need to know if vehicles need base decals. I tried the website for NAS but nothing specific about decals for Pensacola since the new regulations came out in July. Traded trucks (pull a fifth wheel)and if needed will be easier to obtain decal either at NSA Midsouth or Fort Campbell. Not sure any base issues the decals now. We are retired. Thanks
  • It depends. Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point MCAS require them. If you don't have them, you have to get a temp and the parking lot is not, shall we say, big-rig friendly.
  • I haven't tried to get a sticker since I retired a little over 3 years ago. Show the ID and always good to go!!
  • What Macdill told me was it was a DOD policy to do away with base decals, because with the 100% id required requirement it was no longer necessary to have a base decal.....
  • Ft Campbell and others no longer issue the stickers, or didn't last time I asked.
Some Naval bases still required them last I checked.
The ones on our coach and towed have expired and I had hoped to get them ,at local base, instead of trying, to time arrival where wanted to stay with the office still being open.

Thats all we do here is show our retirment from NAVY DOD SERVICE ID card. Havent had any problems getting into the military MWR spots all around the east side of the US here using our assigned CAC card....

I did encounter one time where active military did bump us one time but that can be expected I guess... Wasn't any big deal for us...

  • My brain kicked in and called the campground and NAS doesn't require decals only proper IDs. Also talked with campground at NSA Midsouth (Memphis) and that base doesn't either. Amazing how hard it was to find this info on military websites or calling some base officials to ask. All calls went to recordings and extensions were busy and said call back soon. All the info on websites seemed to say "up to the local base commander".
  • No need for decal. You can get in with registration and insurance card if needed. Most bases dropped the decals when they had to pay for them out of their budget. Here at Ft. Rucker, Al. you just show ID card or if not military active or retired show the above mentioned items.
