Recommended that a battery charger/maintainer is used while the vehicle is in tow mode to prevent complete battery drain . Is there a way to power off the RV while we are towing to maintain the charge on our jeep? We will be having a Brake buddy stealth installed on the jeep

Thanks

  • We have a 2007 winnebago Journey 36G. The batteries are in a compartment on the passenger side near the back of the motorhome.
  • Yes. If you have a 7-blade RV trailer connector on your towing vehicle, the #4 pin (black wire) should be 12VDCfrom the towing vehicle battery. If this lkead is connected to the battery in your Cherokee, it should keep the battery charged. You might want to increase the wire size, though. The (probably) 10 gauge wire might lose enough current in that long run to slow the charge rate.
What rig will you be towing the Cherokee with, and where is the battery?
