- LynnmorExplorer IIAs I said, you will have a secondary bend if the jaws aren't deep enough. Yes, it's much better now.
Now get a can of Fluid Film and spray the springs to lubricate and stop all that rust. - kyle86ExplorerI used a pair of large cresant wrenches like suggested and got it back straight enough I think. It wasn't that bad. Much better than when I tried to use a pry bar. A leaf spring will now slide through so I can use the hole I want. THANKS TO ALL WHO REPLIED!!! :)
- broark01Explorer IIIn case you don't have enough good suggestions above here is another mediocre one.
Get a LARGE pipe wrench, slide it up over the bent hanger and tighten the jaws as tight as possible. You will have more leverage than you would with a crescent wrench. Use your choice of muscle and heat, as described above. - RockDodgerExplorerWhatever you decide, just don't pound on it with a hammer.
- dodge_guyExplorer IIA large crescent wrench and a pry bar up inside the hanger to help it come back straight.

Heat it up and bend it back.
If you want to use one of the other holes then you will need to heat it up with a torch to bend it back the right way.
I wonder how it got bent ? I would do a close inspection to look for other damage.
I wonder if you will have tire wear problems down the road ? - buc1980ExplorerHeat it up and bend it back.
- bguyExplorerA large thumb wrench.
- LynnmorExplorer IIHe wants to use one of the other holes, so it needs straightened. The idea of using a large adjustable wrench will work, but it will give a secondary bend at the end of the jaws. For this reason, you should have a very large wrench that reaches to the original bend. If you can't find a wrench that large, clamp steel flat stock over the bent portion and use a wrench over that.
- midnightsadieExplorer IIX2 its not hurting anything ,its just there, wrench it back ,it,ll go easyer than you think.
