Best Camping - Bar Harbor - Acadia Nat'l Park Area

We plan to go to Acadia Nat'l Park in September and would like to know your favorite campground. We do not need full hookup but do at least want electric. We have been there three times and once had a great campground but do not remember the name. Your help, as always, is appreciated.

    We always stay at Bar Harbor Campground on Rt.3. No reservations and they don't take credit cards, they DO take personal checks. You check in at the office, pick your site and pay at the office. Some sites are full hookup (W,E,S) and a lot of sites are water and electric. They also have WiFi that works but no cable TV.

    Getting a site in September is usually not a problem. Getting a full hookup in July and August can be a problem.
