The one thing I dislike about the published campground guides is they give more space to the ones who advertise in their book. I especially dislike that they do not include county, city or other parks. And if they do include a city/county park there is never any information about the park just the name. Thus if you are interested you have to try to find out what the address is so just the name is useless. We have traveled so many thousands of miles and will drive by a park that when we try to find it in the books it is not listed. Plus the books list the campgrounds in the mailing address order. We have stayed in a campground that is in one town and the posting shows it in another town and that is where the post office is. Rand McNally used to make a spreadsheet type book with a state map with numbers on the map and it was easy to say here we are here is the number and look up on the spread sheet type page. quick and easy. This type of book was hundreds of times easier to use than the current books. Plus if you wanted a certain amenity you could just scroll town that line and see which parks offered it. I could have used the RM book on our trip to Alaska and Back...
