I'm finally ready to spend the money it will take to extend the hitch under the extended back of my Camper. I know my local Eckhart shop wants $1000.00 dollars to build me a removable 10K lb. rated set up for under my set up.I do think that includes the trailer control & everything else involved.Do I really need to spend that much?That being asked, Yes, I do see wanting to be able to pull that sort of weight. Looking for options?Thanks in advance.

Torklift SuperHitch can easily do what you're looking for. They have various lengths of extensions rated for your needs. I had Torklift on my 1996 Dodge and my 2006 Dodge Megacab.

It depends on customer vehicle. Some vehicles have the option bolting on an extra hitch on top of current hitch. Other vehicles are complete replacement only.

I had Torklift install the 1996 Dodge. I installed it on my 2006. Your choice.

Are talking about the Torklift is too heavy to take off alone?
Well.... Either way the Torklift would take up a lot less space to store.

I went with the Torque Lift on my F550. I have a 48" extension to go under my 94 caribou. It may be a bit of overkill given I pull a M105A3 cargo trailer or my drag truck. neither of which exceed 6000 lbs. but I'm all about the safety factor.
I also got it off craigslist for $500.00 and it came with the camper tie downs.
1 comment, taking it on and off by your self is a bit optimistic. It is 1 heavy hitch.

To be honest I'm leaning bak again towards the Torklift superhitch & then getting the Truss.
they have spent a lot of effort into engineering this & its simple enough I can do it myself & remove & re-install it later without another person to help me.

I'll decide within a couple of days, most likely just order it tomorrow?

Unless someone here can tell me why not to?

I have a friend that had something like you've proposed on a late 70's Ford. It was all quick connect pullout with various pins holding it in or out. He mentioned it was expensive when done in the early 80's.

A 17K lb receiver and 4' extension (you may not need such a long one) giving you 12K lbs WDH are under $1000 to your door. The TorkLift setup using a SuperHitch and SuperTruss looks like a better deal that is stronger.

SuperHitch with a dual truss chained at the corners works well even with WDH setups that torque the hitch all sorts of ways. I typically tow 5000-8000 lbs behind my camper.
