- islandvagabondsExplorerX4 on the Edge. I have towed my 2010 AWD 25000 miles so far with no problems. So far I have been able to go almost evrywhere my 4wd friends have gone. Install the Roadmaster air brake system. It works great and is easy to set up each time.
- jerseyjimExplorerFWIW I tow a 2011 Ranger 4WD automatic. Had to buy the "transfer case disconnect kit"...a Ford only item. They installed it....400 bucks.
No problems. I also tow a 2007 Chevy HHR Automatic. Simply pull a fuse and go.
I found that GM has the most 4WD friendly models in most price ranges. But, I wanted what I wanted and the Ranger is it for me.
g'luck in your search! - the_silverbackExplorerX3 on the ford edge. I have towed mine 27,000 miles. no problems.
- dleslie125ExplorerOh, BTW, to tow, just like the Tahoe we had. Transfer case in Neutral, transmission in park, take out the key and lock the door. No having to worry about running the engine and going through the gears periodically and watching the fluid temp.
- dleslie125ExplorerI came within about 2 minutes of buying a 2013 Edge to replace our 2011 Escape since we just don't want that suspense on the transmission any longer.
Then woke up and said "I'm only going to tow if it has a transfer case." Switched and have ordered a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited with Active Drive II - transfer case with Neutral and a 9 speed automatic transmission.
Weighs just over 4000 lbs, loaded with high tech stuff, has a tow package as well and will tow 4500 lbs with Class III receiver. They have just started production and we hope to get ours in September. - lanerdExplorer II

I think you can tow the EDGE.
Yes, an Edge would be a good dinghy too.Posted By: rmize1948 on 07/24/13 12:05pm
We have a diesel pusher and currently tow an '09 Chevy Trailblazer. I want to move to a Ford product so can anyone make a recommendation for a replacement for the Trailblazer?
To all the CRV and Jeep lovers... the OP is asking about "FORDS"!!! - dverstraExplorer
