So this thread entitled "Beware of Michelin Tires" and the first post and expecting no support from Michelin is actually all wrong. Maybe you should start a new thread about fantastic Michelin customer service.
Not really. If you have an issue with the OP's wording, then evangelize Michelin in your own thread. :S
If I had Michelins on my rig that were only a few years old, I would make a point of checking them very closely after seeing the OP's post. It is likely many Michelin owners figure their tires are fine because they are not very old, have few miles, and are covered when not in use- as they SHOULD BE FINE.
Perhaps the OP's thread will prevent a reader from having tire problems, or even an accident by warning them?
OP- You're good. You didn't say anything wrong. If someone's sensitivities got upset because their favorite team messed up, that's their personal issue. For the record, I don't believe for a minute that you sabotaged those tires in 2 days with a knife, club, or nuclear waste, no matter what some folks try to imply :R
Au contraire to both your posts, Doctr:
It's not a point of evangelizing Michelin tires....
It's (wrong!) demonizing the tire manufacturer without making any attempt to solve (or investigate) the problem!
"Lemons" can be acquired anywhere!
Pick your favorite car/truck brand.
Ever hear of Monday morning -or- Friday night models?
That's why there's "Lemon Laws".
The OP started two threads on two different forums (deftly circumventing forum rules) - either for self-aggrandizement or
because he doesn't know much about tires, tire manufactures, tire care and maintenance, etc.
Which is *very* hard to believe if he's been on the forums for 8 years!..:S
There's at least a dozen ways he could have started his thread by looking for suggestions on what to do about cracks in relatively new tires -
of ANY brand!!Could you imagine a post:
"Beware of Ford Trucks" - - :S
Doctr, heal thyself!
