Bizarre California health care sitch

As executor of my brothers will I received a bill from the hospital, where he passed away, for $75.01. I called and spoke to a very officious young man who explained that if my brother didn't pay this bill immediatly it would be sent to a collection agency. Furthermore they could place a lien against his house, already sold and ruin his credit. I explained to him that all hospital, doctor and lab bills had been paid after my brothers death. After talking to this flunky for about 15 minutes I asked for a supervisor. She was reading from the same script. I finally just hung up on them, Six months later I have not heard anything further. Somehow or other this same hospital has just finished a multi million dollar expansion even without this $75.01
