Those things are gross. Invest in a tank mounted sprayer and you don't have to drag a hose in the coach.
When someone makes an in the tank flush system that works as well as the Camco flexible spin nozzle flush wand I'll install it. And I don't "drag a hose in the coach", I made a simple adapter that connects the shower hose to the flush wand. A hot water flush works great... - DrewEExplorer IIWhy sterilize the wand? Do you also sterilize, say, the tires or awning roller mechanism?
I let all the water that readily will drip out of mine drip (into the toilet or outdoors). If it were visibly soiled (which generally hasn't happened), I'd wipe it down with a paper towel or something. Then I just toss it in the sewer bay next to the sewer hoses and elbow connector and associated whatnot. Finally I wash my hands with soap and water and get on with whatever is next. - rhagfoExplorer III

One of better ways to spend about $30! Did one about three years ago and works great.
Something else I have tried and like is when the trailer is going to sit for a while, put about a half a box of Rid-x in the black tank, with the tank about half full of water. Rid-x needs at least a couple weeks to really work. - drsteveExplorerMine is somewhere in the storage compartment, I think. Quit using it long ago, haven't had any problems.

- Dutch_12078Explorer IIIMine just gets wiped down and tossed in the bin with the waste tank hoses and attachments.

- DutchmenSportExplorerJust shove it in the trailer bumper. Done!
- popeyemthExplorerMine made matters WORSE!
Found out "somebody" was wiping the spray wand down with HUGE HANDFULS of toilet paper then tossing them down the toilet!
Now whe wipe with a paper towel, spritz with Lysol and put in a two inch diameter PVC tube with an end cap on the bottom and stand in the corner behind the toilet to dry
