Hello,I need to get my 5th wheel cleaned and due to health issues it is just to much for me to take on myself. I have a Blue Beacon Truck Wash about 20 minutes or so from me. I called and they do wash RV's and a wash would be approximately $30. I think this is a reasonable cost as I paid a mobile company in Myrtle Beach last summer $150 for just a wash including roof.When I spoke to the manager he stated that they wash a lot of RV's and just don't blast them with a pressure washer but use brushes and a different less caustic soap the what they use on the trucks. They avoid vents and other opening as well.I would be using the Blue Beacon in Bentleyville PA for the wash.If anyone has used any Blue Beacon or even better the one in Bentleyville what was your experience good or bad? It looks like I will be taking the RV there this weekend.Thanks in advance for your help!Dave

I use Blue Beacon, they sure beat doing it yourself when on the road. Having said that, it probably won't be the same as the one you paid more money for.I would pay the little extra for the Rain-X coating and I would pay extra for a hand dry job if they do, not all of them do, but ask. Otherwise you could wind up with some streaks. Wheel polishing is extra if you have chrome wheels.Generally after the wash you'll pull it out front where they do the hand drying (if they do it) and you can look at it to see if they missed any places. By having them hand dry it, they catch any places they missed with the brushes.Bill

I use Blue Beacon (as well as other truck washes) quite a bit. I do always ask them to use their newer brushes so as to not damage the paint job. Whether they do or not, I don't know, but I want them to know I care. They have always done a very good job. The supervisor at the final rinse walks behind the rinse with his flashlight and does a close inspection including the wheel wells. As a member of FMCA, I have their coupons for a free RainX treatment which I get and I have them do the tire treatment probably every other time. Had the last Blue Beacon wash yesterday (Memorial Day) at the FJ just north of Richmond, VA.

They actually TRAIN from what I am told and they do indeed know how to properly wash an RV, mine was a bit more expensive (55) and there was some stuff they could not get off .. They pointed it out and I was able to get it off, but I can do things a bit more "Aggressive" (plus they soaked it well so it came off easily an area smaller than my hand was affected)'Oh, I Rain-x-ed it as well for that price.I like a nice shiny RV

Have used BB several times with my RV.
They do a good job and are fast. Just be aware that you might have a long wait in a lineup to get in sometimes .

I have a Blue Beacon about 15 minutes from the house, and use them about once per month. The $40 is a small price to pay for the quality job they do - that includes the truck and fiver. Maintenance is cheaper and easier than repair, and I like keeping my rig in top condition.

I feel more confident that this is the right move for me.

I asked when would be a good time and they said early Sunday is rather slow so I'm planning on taking it there this Sunday morning.

What does the Rain x treatment do? I was planning on waxing / polishing the 5th wheel once I got it clean. Well not me nut my two daughters and their husbands. Will the rain x make this harder?

I have used Blue Beacon for my fiver. They did a great job. I did not have them do the roof because I wasn't sure if their soap was bad for the EPDM. They have the ability to selectively turn off the overhead sprayers. The location near me is open 24 hours, and there wasn't any line at 1 AM. :)
