blythe island campground

There is a marina on the river right across the road from the campground.

There is a launch site at the park. Great place and quiet

Nice place.. lots of golf cart trails also. Plenty of room and a nice boat launch on site.

Please post your comments on Crooked River SP. Would like to camp there and take a day trip to Cumberland island.

We went to crooked river sp today . Very nice old south look, with the live oaks and moss. Bike trails and birding area,tortise nesting area.Nice looking river moving about 6 knot current and I think about 12 ft tidal changes. Boat ramp, bait shop. Bait shop guy said river has no channel markers which means you would have to use caution . They call one area Saturday sandbar because people get stuck there and have to wait til tide comes in again.Also nice cabins there and camp ground is also very nice cable tv at sites.Also heard a lot of good things about Cumberland island they have wild horses you can take a ferry there and explore. We will be returning some time in future hopefully.

We went to Blythe about six weeks ago (usually do one nighter there) the bridge was under construction on south side. There was no warning before turning down the road and we had to make U-turn. If you go in that way, you might want to call first.
