Brittle broken door trim

Hi All - we have 1996 Coachmen Catalina and it's starting to show it's age. Mostly I'm able to stay on top of it, but this trim around the door has me stumped. It's brittle and breaking. Aside from just breaking all the rest of it away I can't really see how to remove or replace it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Rockhillmanor and Downtheroad- I have a roll of that trim, for repairing/replacing exterior corner trim. It's 1 inch wide and relatively soft and plyable. This seems completely different, only 1/2" wide and thinner hard plastic, and now very brittle.

There is two types. I have the soft one that goes around the cab over seam on the Class C and then there is the hard one that goes down the side of the MH and one that goes around the bottom covering the screws, that, yes, does crack over time.

Take a piece of it and go to your local RV dealership part department they will have it in stock. :C

Think I found the right stuff, rigid trim insert. Ordered it for $10.21 including shipping. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

That is replaceable trim. Pull it out and put new one in.

Find it at any local RV store and/or dealership. Dealerships sell it by the foot and some make you buy the whole roll. Which you might find helpful to replace other areas anyway.
  • Hard to tell from the picture, but I think that is basic RV "insert" trim. It just covers the screw heads and fits into a track.

To remove it, just yank it out and replace it. There are lots of options and it's readily available on the net and from RV dealers. Here is one option, but you can Google " RV Insert Trim" and find lots of it.
