Well nothing is ever easy. :)
I ordered the part from Ryder and then called back because I had a funny feeling something wasn't correct. The second employee told me that the part I was told to order was likely the wrong one so I cancelled the order. He said I would need to measure the width of my RV and then length of the mirror arm to be sure. He also said that the part might need to be made because it was not in stock. Why do these things always happen weeks before a big trip? :)
So back to storage to do some measuring. I guess I will also call some of these scrap yards as well but I think it likely to get the wrong part that way as well.
Sounds like a case for Duct Tape. JK ;)
You would have laughed at the amount of duct tape I used on it to get home. I also had to drive with the window down because the tape had to wrap around the door frame at the window to keep it from blowing back due to the wind. It still moved. By the time I drove the 20 miles to storage, the mirror was almost touching my left hand on the steering wheel, lol. Good times.
