broken toilet seat

i have a dometic/thetford toilet in my 2010 sunseeker. the plastic seat has broken off at the hinges. is it a std size seat that i can replace at walmart etc. or is the hole size some custom size?

    The answer is .. Confusing.

There are two "Standards" Oval and round.. If it LOOKS like a standard seat, it is.

There is a 3rd style (different hinge and mount) used on some RV toilets.

yes. they were on my last two rigs anyway. i don't think you will have a problem. but i would measure them just to be sure.

  • There are only two sizes/shapes. One is smaller and more round (common in rv's) and the other is quite a bit longer. Iwould take a measurement front to back.
If you have any doors that have to swing over the toilet like shower or closet, make sure the new one isn't too thick or it will interfere (learned the hard way).

They have 2 or 3 different shapes at Home Depot. We found one at Home Depot that fit our dometic toilet. We slid cardboard under the seat. Drew a pattern. Took pattern with us to check the fit.

x2 This what I did also.
