My favorite part of Zion was not the main canyon.
The other two drivable areas had a lot fewer people, and has spectacular geology too -- not as spectacular as the cliffs in the main canyon, but worthy in their own right.
There are not many 'easy' trails in the main part of Zion. Some are short and paved and still have some steep pitches. The Angels Landing trail is strenuous even for someone young and healthy. You can see quite a bit from the road. We found the bus system to be excellent. You just get on and off wherever and whenever you want. The stops are only a few minutes apart and the buses come every 20 minutes or so.
You can see almost all of Bryce from the overlooks. The Queens Garden trail is wonderful and enchanting hiking down into the hoodoo maze, but steep in places. Not for someone not up for a good hike. We hiked the whole loop trail. The sections close to the trailheads were packed, but in the middle section along the bottom there were hardly any people.
