- VeebyesExplorer IIGreat job. Too bad RV manufacturers don't follow with the marine mind in using space. So much potential storage space goes unused in RVs, never mind quality of hardware that goes into them.
"Yes many Ex-Navy pilots now fly the commercial jets we enjoy so much."
Not related to topic but I had to smile when I saw that. They must be the guys flying commercial jets into Bermuda. They see water at both ends of the runway & get flashbacks of their carrier days slamming the plane down on an imaginary 2nd or 3rd wire sometimes. Well, it seems that way.
Actually the runway here is plenty long enough. Bermuda was a first option for an early sub orbital shuttle flight abort. - CJ5_jeeperExplorerI have a friend that is a mechanic that is building a motorhome on a Pete. He is taking his time, and plans on having it finished when he retires in several years. He even built a slideout.

I thought he was a Canadian? On edit, it was just the thread started by a Canadian. Doug is from the USA.
Chris - gboppExplorerMaybe this will give the RV manufacturers some ideas.
I like the compartments for the kids. That alone would be worth $171,000. ;)
The cost to have it shipped across the pond is a lot lower than I expected.
I hope they have a great trip. - Homer1Explorer

X-3 Makes you proud of some enterprising Americans. - Golden_HVACExplorerThis RV owner has posted on Rv.Net before. It is a great RV, with 16 solar panels if I recall right. He stated that in Europe, they have 8 amp 220 volt plugs for the RV's to plug into. Not enough to run a electric heater, and his inverter/charger was 120 volts input, so he could not recharge the battery from shore power. However the solar and driving (normally that class 8 chassis has a 150 - 250 amp alternator) kept the battery full, even though all the appliances ran from the inverter and battery power.
I would like to have something like that, but probably would pick a longer wheelbase 2 axle truck in the 26,000 GVWR range. Three axle trucks run upwards of 33,000 GVWR, perhaps even 50,000 GVWR. This is much more expensive than a 2 axle truck, and you can reduce the weight enough to stay within the 26,000 GVWR, and still have a 2,500 pound cargo rating - even with a full 100 gallon fresh water tank.
Great to see more pictures of the RV and find out it's cost and design pictures where great too.
Hopefully the owner will say something - if he is not out flying around the world in commercial jets. Yes many Ex-Navy pilots now fly the commercial jets we enjoy so much.
Fred. - sueroverExplorerShipping costs must have gone down with the recession. That's about what it cost to ship our 24' Born Free in 2008. 16 months so far. Highly recommend it.
