Buying an RV... How long has it been on the lot?

I am soon to buy an RV but before I do, I want to know if there is a way to know how long it has been on the lot? Anybody have a way?
Thank you!

The red arrow points to where you find the date of manufacture.

  • The month of manufacture is on the plaque on the front right corner of the trailer when looking at it from the front. Is this what you are referring. to or how long the RV dealer has had it, eg, if it is a used rig or old stock etc?
  • Get VIN # and call the manufacturer. They will tell you when it was built. Better info than "How Long Was It on The Lot" to negotiate with. May have been on the lot a few weeks but at the factory for six months.

I've been at a few RV lots and them saying a few days and there was cobwebs from the tires to the ground...

  • The longer it sits on the lot the cheaper it will be to buy. Info on tire placard along with vin#

Of course the tires could have been sitting at manufacturer's plant for sometime before being put on the trailer. I don't think that would really let you know how long it had been on the lot. But I wouldn't worry about it, anyway. If you like it, buy it.

Why worry about it? If you like the rig and like the price buy it.
