B&W or Pullrite 5th wheel hitch?

I am upgrading my truck to a new Ram with the factory 5th wheel prep. My other truck was a shortbed with a 16k Superglide. Loved the hitch and it is still like new after 7 years. My problem is to use it in the new truck (long bed ) I would have to use an adapter on top of the new rails fitting the puck system. I am afraid it will put the hitch to high. So I am going to buy a new hitch and I want either a B&W RVK 3600 made for the Dodge factory hitch prep or a Pullrite 25k super 5th. I like the wrap around latch on the Pullrite and have experience with it. I read a lot of good stuff about the B&W Companion head also and it is less expensive. My question is has anyone used both and what was your likes and dislikes about each?

  • I put the B&W RVK 3600 in our new Ram 3500. Best hitch we've ever had. I have no experience with a Pullrite.

Just look at your above statement.

If that don't make up your mind nothing will.

  • I had a Pullrite in my previous truck and it was great.
Have never read of any complaints from owners of either. So I don't think you can go wrong either way. Sort of like which truck do you like the best.
  • Just look at them side by side! B&W has 1" thick machined jaws that fit the kingpin perfectly. The PullRite has 1/2" laminated jaw that won't fit as good as the B&W.

B&W has a simple no question latching system. The B&W RVK3600 is top quality and is made specifically to fit your factory puck system. No picture frame adapter is required that just adds more connection points. They are quiet with no rattles.

Ask anyone that has a B&W and have used other non air ride hitches their opinion and they will tell you B&W is by far the best out there. No goofy handle to try to operate or color coding to tell you if you are latched.

With the B&W hitching is so simple. With the hitch and kingpin plates touching, and the handle closed and locked, visually see the 1" thick jaws closed around the kingpin there is no question if you are hitched or not. It's that simple.

You have the best truck so be sure to get the best hitch to go along with it!

I have the RVK3600 sitting in my shop waiting on the arrival of my 15 RAM.
  • Haven't used both but I do have a B&W Companion since 2008 and like it. No problems, works great and feels very secure. Easy to remove if needed.
