B&W vs. Blue Ox slider adaptor hitch for goose neck

We have a 2013 Silverado 2500 hd with b&w turnoverball gooseneck. We need a manual slide fifth wheel. We'd been referred to the b&w fifth wheel companion hitch, which I believe attached by replacing the ball unit. We have also seen a blue ox slider made for use with "any" goose neck hitch. Just wondered if either had an advantage in capacity, ease of use, warranty, quality, ride, etc.

Thanks in advance!
  • I can't say on the blue ox, other than the name usually implies good quality.

I can say the B&W is good quality, excellent warranty, and very user friendly. The Companion slider is quite heavy. Are you sure you need a slider? My neighbor has a 12 Chevy 2500, with B&W ball, and regular B&W Companion (non-sliding) hitch. He has a square front Hitch Hiker FW, and no clearance issues. If your FW has rounded front corners, you likely don't need the heavy/costly slider.
