California adds 12 cent gas tax and 20 cent diesel tax

A story about corruption (whish it would happen here) I was in China in 2003 on a tour. The highway was 3 years old but felt like a roller coaster. Our tour guide explained that the head of transportation oke'd the lowest bid and got caught taking millions in bribes. Off to jail he goes and vanished 6 months later. 1 year after that it was determined that his family was living from the bribe money and yes they vanished.
