If legislators (I only get to vote for one from my district, all the others are elected by other people) decide on a tax increase, why do I have to follow in lockstep agreement? I may have voted for another candidate in my district and have no say in all the others. This thinking is but another example of how "conventional wisdom" has taken over the concept of thinking for yourself. Because others have decided something is beneficial does not require you to agree. Yes, it becomes the law of the land, but you don't have to like it. And no, I am not responsible for a tax increase I do not support and was not supported by the legislative candidate(s) I either voted for or was represented by.
