I think you might be ok with the over 40' motorohome... from the dmv site...
45' Housecar Endorsement Exemptions
The following license classes are exempt from the 45' housecar endorsement requirement:
Commercial Classes A and B
Noncommercial Class A
as far as being legal.. I want to be.. it seems near impossible to drive with someone.. if you don't have any to drive with.. I googled.. it.. and apparently nobody hires out for that service either... :(
