Ok I now lowered the head of the hitch one notch down on the shank. The tongue of the trailer measures 28 1/2 inches when level my ball height is now 29 inches so with in half an inch. I was able to get hooked up to the second link on the chain and only went down and 1/8 inch in front and stayed level in rear. Is it safe to use only the second link? The bars do look more parallel.
