EAZ Lift weight distribution

Hello everyone, we have ordered our TT (2014 fun finder 265rbss) and it will arrive in 7-9 weeks. The dealer said they install EAZ-Lift WD, I've never heard of this WD so I'm looking for feedback from those in the know. I have done research on others like the Equalizer, Reece, Hensley, pro etc...

I have a lifted chevy and am looking for something for the best ride, ease of use so what say you?
  • Congrats on your new rig.
EAZ Lift is the run of the mill basic WD hitch. Probably the most inexpensive out there and probably the most common that I see...but it will work. There is no sway control integrated into it.

How much is your truck "lifted?" Lifted trucks are not optimal for towing but many do it.

Having had an EAZ Lift, an Equal-i-zer and a Reese Dual Cam...You asked, "What say you," I am partial to the Dual Cam.

It's more involved to install initially, after that it is no harder or easier to use.
  • I'm pretty sure it's a Camco product and very inexpensive. Other than that, I know nothing.

X2, Eaz lift was the old original brand name that many have copied, Husky, Camco, etc. It's the original WD hitch and I ran one for about 9 years with an add on friction control and it worked OK. Dealers love this style because it's a $280 hitch that they can sell for $600 as "part of the deal", or "throw it in" to close the deal.

Dealers are familiar with this style, and with some, it's the only hitch they're familiar with and know how to install. It's the most commonly seen setup on the road and is adequate for most uses.

Nothing wrong with that setup, but the Dual Cam and Equalizer (which I run now) are superior. Go with one of those brands if you want to upgrade but make sure the dealer knows how to install 'em. Most don't have a clue and in the case of the Dual Cam end up drilling extra holes in the frame because they mounted the brackets in the wrong place initially. The Equalizer uses a clamp-one bracket so if it's in the wrong place, you can move it.
  • I would jump to an EQ or Reese DC. The EQ is fairly easy to set up. Reese a little more finicky. Once either are setup then they take no longer to hitch up than an EAZ-Lift and you get the benefits of sway control.
Dealers just like the EAZ-Lift cause its fast and easy to setup and they can get you on your way quicker. Less labor $$$.
  • Just to clairify, the Eaz-Lift DOES have two mounts for two add on sway controls.

They work very well, are not unsafe if set up properly (just like anything else), and get the job done.

    Thanks,

    Jeremiah
  • I have the Eaz-lift and it works great. I use one sway control with it and it does its job.

I used the same setup for about 9 years, and yes, they do work fine. Some of the new generation hitches listed above have a few advantages. Nothing wrong with the old EZ Lift setup and it's still the most common WD hitch on the road.
  • It will work, but is noisy. Blue Ox is not much more in price, and it quiet (and easier to hitch).
  • I have the EZ-Lift and I'm happy with it. Also run one sway control and our Tt tows just fine.
