I recently listened to my DW of 51+years about my attitude with sales fplks, nurses, fastfood workers and a lot of others, I love talking with new folks but was not to friendly with the above and treated them rudely. My DW has been on me more and more about my attitude and I had a health scare a while ago and realized all those folks were trying to help me and I wouldn't let them. I reflected on my fellow campers and realized I was friendly as long as I was doing the talking but I was not listening to them.
We were confined to our home area for 8 weeks due to medical treatments I was receiving and I put a special effort into being cheerful with everyone. You know what? I'm much happier and I have some aquaintences that are really interesting and the treatments went fast , we met a lot of others with the same or similar inflictions and talked about everything and some of these folks have sad stories, some are extraordinary but all are our buddies. Life is much nicer and I even really listened to a long time friend of my wife who rubbed me the wrong way, he ain't so bad and there were really warm hugs yesterday when we left their beach cottage.
Do you want the point to my story or have you figured it out, let me know.
