DH and I have been RVing for just about 40 years, all over the East Coast. Honestly, we can count on one hand the number of campers who have not been at least cordial, if not down right friendly. We are both outgoing people who enjoy meeting others, and I think that's part of it. The other part seems self-explanatory to me. Why would a person who does not enjoy other people EVER have an RV in the first place. No, really, why would they. OK, maybe their job requires a lot of travel, or their "other half" really enjoys RVing, but those may be the only reasons I can think of. It is the "nature of the game" to be outside, with others, enjoying life!!!
